  chair - zaisu

This type of chair has appeared on the market relatively recently. Influenced by Western culture, many Japanese use Western-style chairs. With the availability of this type of chair (which has no legs), one can enjoy the support and comfort of a Western-style chair back while sitting on the floor, as is the custom in Japanese tatami rooms. Some of the chairs are even able to recline, and are perfect for relaxing under a heated kotatsu table, one of the most common ways of staying warm on cold nights in Japan.

This chair is shown with a zabuton cushion.
