This site has been successfully tested on: Windows (95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP) and Macintosh OS (8.0 and 9.0). The site may work on other operating systems depending on whether they are supported by Macromedia Shockwave and Apple QuickTime. IMPORTANT NOTE TO PEOPLE USING MACINTOSH SYSTEMS: Only Power Macintosh computers work with this site. Memory Requirements: Windows: 64MB total Macintosh: PowerMac, 128MB total with 50 or more MBytes assigned to Netscape. To set your memory allocation for Netscape, close Netscape, click on the application icon and select "File: Get Info." Click "Show: General Information" and select "Memory." Set the "Preferred size" to 50000 or greater, depending on the available memory on your machine. If you do not have 50MB of free RAM, you can still view the site, but some of the features may stop working as memory is consumed. |

This site was created for viewing on a Microsoft Windows PC or Apple Power Macintosh Computer. The site is optimized for viewing in Netscape Navigator 4.x or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x, 5.x. and 6.x with JavaScript 1.2 or higher enabled. When last tested, this site was not viewable with Internet Explorer for Macintosh (due to lack of support for VBscript). In addition, since the site was completed, Netscape version 6 and 7 have been released. Neither version supports the method used to communicate between the browser and the Shockwave plug-in. This technology is used heavily in the exploration section of this site. The guidebook and other sections will still work. Please see the note below for more explanation.
If you have an Internet connection, click these links to download Netscape Navigator 4.x or the latest version of Internet Explorer. NOTE: For the immersive, high bandwidth (use of panoramas) portion of this site, communication between the browser and the Shockwave plug-in is necessary. The underlying code for Netscape versions 6 and higher (currently 6 and 7) has changed since this site was completed and no longer supports this communication. Macromedia (creator of Shockwave) states on their website that their engineering team is looking into future support for this type of communication; however, it is a major undertaking. Until this new support is available, Netscape 6+ will not work with the immersive portion of this site. We apologize for this unforeseen development and look forward to a solution soon.
