Geometry Visualization

IMTC has developed a unique way to provide the teaching ability of a Master Teacher and the computational power of a high-end graphics workstation at low cost to schools. Georgia Tech, in conjunction with the University of Georgia's College of Education, is developing a low cost student response unit, and the courseware for use on it. The initial system is designed to distribute the geometrical modeling power of a workstation to an entire classroom through the use of low cost units. The units contain a small color LCD TV, a black and white character display and a series of buttons and dials for feedback to the Computer and teacher.  Students can interact with the system, adjusting parameters in equations and seeing the results displayed as a three-dimensional model instantly. The TV allows for distribution of images from the computer, educational materials from a central video library, or live lessons from a Master Teacher at a remote site.
