IMTC, in collaboration
with Department of Health and Performance Science, is developing
the IOC (International Olympic Committee) Coaching Center for use
during the 1996 Olympics. The Center, sponsored by the IOC
Medical Commission, is designed to allow coaches and their athletes
access to computerized video recordings of their competitions,
instantly accessible on a network of computer terminals. The system
knows about important plays in longer events such as Soccer, and
allows for quick access to these critical plays for review. Located
in the Olympic Village, the Coaching Center will operate almost
round the clock during the Olympics to provide these critical services
to the athletes.
