IMTC and the Michael
C. Carlos Museum at Emory University developed an interactive
information system, Passport to the World, for visitors to the
museum. The program was installed in five galleries and the entry
hall of the museum from 1995 to 2000. During this time visitors
were able to discover facts about the wide variety of cultural
artifacts the Museum has to offer via these entertaining, educational
kiosks that looked at major artifacts in each collection of the
museum. The project provided a deep information resource useful
to casual visitors, students, or researchers. The project was
funded by a grant from the Lila Wallace/Reader's Digest Foundation
Museum Accessibility Program.
