To whom it may
concern,
I have had extremely good experiences with the Interactive
Media
Technology Center (IMTC) on all levels, personal and professional.
In the past, IMTC members and my research group at Georgia Tech
have collaborated, on four projects of differing scales and technical
complexities. In our Beware Home project, the IMTC team designed
state-of-the-art effects for a high-tech haunted house that highlighted
new techniques being researched at Georgia Tech's Aware Home. This
project was quite extensive and would not have been successful
without
IMTC's professionalism, skill, and determination to see the project
through.
On smaller, more scientific projects, IMTC's efforts have
proven very valuable. For example, IMTC has helped in the process
of patenting our Gesture Pendant and Dextest systems which provide
dexterity tests for monitoring Parkinson's Disease in the elderly.
IMTC also helped interface with members of the medical community,
research the technology, and present the ideas to the public. IMTC
members have led my group in expanding these ideas to be part of
a national center of excellence for research for the disabled.
On a more personal note, members of IMTC have been my students
in classes in the past and, after leaving IMTC, have also worked
for
a company I helped to found. I've always found that IMTC attracts
members with an energy and skill level that is hard to match in
any other environment. I can recommend IMTC without reservation.
