Charmed
Technology contracted with IMTC to redesign and improve
the CharmBadge System for the North American IPv6 Summit in Santa
Monica, California. The Charmbadge is as
an electronic conference badge that uses infrared (line-of-sight)
technology to communicate with other CharmBadges in its viewing
area. Each Charmbadge had a unique ID that is associated with
the attendee wearing it through a database lookup. That ID is
passed to other CharmBadges in the viewing area and stored along
with the interaction time. At any time, the CharmBadge interaction
information could be downloaded at a CharmBadge download station
and stored in the CharmBadge database for later viewing via the
CharmBadge Information Access Center website. Through this website,
attendees could change their contact information and information
publishing preferences (what information they want to allow others
to view) and view their interactions,
as well as: sort interactions using various sort criteria, export
them as an EXCEL file or vCard, or store them in their contacts
folder on the site for later followup.
IMTC
debuted the CharmBadge Sytem at the North
American IPv6 Summit,
June 14-18, 2004 in Santa Monica, California. IMTC will continue
to work on a number of additions and improvements that are planned
for the CharmBadge system. Additional information about IMTC's
experience and setup for the Summit can be found in the descriptions
of the images below.
